These photographs were captured by wildlife photographer Hannes Lochner who spent two years travelling across Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. His images have now been brought together in a new book, "The Colours of Southern Africa". Learn more and see further images at the telegraph.co.uk here.
A Nile crocodile tosses a freshwater fish into the air, and swallows it, tail first.
Some animals like birds or lions will actively hunt their prey and so there is a lot of movement.
Elephants on the other hand are very slow and deliberate in their movements. Their trunk serves as a hand to communicate and to feed. Their trunks can feed up to 150kg of plant material into their mouth each day and drink 120 litres in one go. So you can sit and watch them all day and get some amazing shots.
