Seven Deadly Sins Represented by Women

January 9th 2008 04:27
Seven Deadly Sins - Lust
Lust is usually thought of as involving obsessive or excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature.

Seven Capital Vices - Gluttony
Gluttony is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste.

Seven Cardinal Sins - Avarice or Greed
Greed (Avarice) is, like Lust and Gluttony, a sin of excess. However, Greed (as seen by the Church) is applied to the acquisition of wealth in particular.

Seven Deadly Sins as represented by women - Sloth (laziness, sadness, apathy)
The definition of Sloth has changed considerably since its original inclusion among the seven deadly sins. In fact it was first called the sin of sadness. The modern view of the vice, as highlighted by its contrary virtue zeal/diligence, is that it represents the failure to utilize one's talents and gifts.

Seven Cardinal Sins - Wrath (anger, hatred, rage, revenge)
Wrath may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger.

Seven Capital Vices - Envy (jealousy)
Those who commit the sin of Envy desire something that someone else has which they perceive themselves as lacking.

Seven Deadly Sins - Pride (vanity, arrogance, narcissism, hubris)
Pride (Vanity) is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to give compliments to others though they may be deserving of them, and excessive love of self.

These pictures are pretty cool. I'm a fan of things relating to the seven deadly sins and I'm working on a novel that's works around certain groups of people representing each sin. Again pretty sweet pictures, I think Wrath and Vanity are my favourites of the seven.

Thanks Wayne. I think Envy and Vanity are my favourites.
I hear they did something similar to this on one of those top model shows. Not a bad idea.
